What's the big deal with AAHA?

The Montgomery Animal Hospital is AAHA-accredited, and proud of it. AAHA stands for the American Animal Hospital Association. It is a organization that sets the standard of care for veterinary hospitals. The vast majority of animal hospitals in the United States are not accredited, so we are proud to be a part of this elite group.

Whatever your pet needs, AAHA makes sure we provide the best quality care:
  • Worried about infectious diseases? We follow strict cleaning protocols - and can even fully change out the air in an exam room with our multiple ventilation systems so a previous patient's sneeze leaves nothing contagious behind.
  • Concerned about anesthesia? At an AAHA-accredited hospital, you know your pet will be monitored continuously for the safest possible procedure.
  • Want to make sure your veterinarian is knowledgeable? AAHA requires TWICE as much continuing education as the Ohio state licensing board, so you can be confident our recommendations are up to date.

Don't just take our word for it! Here is a brief excerpt from the AAHA website - click on the link below for even more detailed information.

"Veterinary hospitals are evaluated on approximately 900 standards of veterinary excellence in order to become accredited. AAHA-accredited hospitals are recognized among the finest in the industry, and are consistently at the forefront of advanced veterinary medicine. Our Standards of Accreditation are continuously reviewed and updated to keep our accredited practices on the cutting edge of veterinary excellence. Our standards address patient care and pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and continuing education. To maintain accredited status, hospitals undergo comprehensive on-site evaluations every three years."
